Friden EC-132 Calculator

The EC-132 was an improvement to the EC-130, square root extraction was the main user-visible change.

The internal architecture was changed significantly - the EC-130 originally used four sets of counter circuits but was redesigned to use only three sets in later models. The EC-132 used the three-counter architecture.

A mechanical item-counter was available as an option and is fitted to the machine in DoPECC’s collection. Together with the square root function this allows easy calculation of n, sum of n and sum of n-squared as is commonly required in statistical analyses.
